cf-campaigning-mapConservative Future is starting May with a bang by today introducing a new campaigning tool in the run-up to the European and council elections on June 4th.

Like the main Party’s new Campaign Together tool, they have put together a map of the UK which exclusively displays upcoming CF campaign days, with contact details for every event, so that activists can easily locate events in their region to support. This map will allow activists to see at a glance all CF’s campaigning events, and contact their organisers.

In addition, the map shows highlights from past campaign days.

More details, and how to promote your events on the map, at ConservativeFuture.com

Labour have done it again. A ruined economy, a robbed people, a mortgaged future. TYC, appalled by the Budget, and inspired by a certain poster of Barack Hussein Obama with a catchy one word slogan, came up with this:

tyc-brown-resign-2

tyc-brown-resign-3

We ought to credit our inspiration, though. Full hat-tip given to the Young America’s Foundation for this great poster – one of a series criticising President Obama. What, you didn’t think we meant this poster, did you…?

UPDATE 15.02: It seems BUCF have had similar inspiration!

UPDATE 21.45: The Young Britons’ Foundation calls for activists to spread our poster on campuses.

YBFAs exams loom and coursework mounts, turn your attention to the Summer Term, and which sound speakers you’re going to invite to join in the end of exam celebrations. It may seem a long way off, but you need to begin planning your next term’s events now. Many speakers will requires several months notice if they’re to attend your event.

The Young Britons’ Foundation can help you with hosting speakers. Their Speaker Panel contains big names in the conservative movement – politicians, thinkers and advocates. So, if you want Dan Hannan MEP, Douglas Murray or Guido Fawkes on your campus, you need to be talking to YBF now.

Email christian@ybf.org.uk if you’d like help in arranging a guest speaker for the Summer Term.

Christian May, Conservative Future Deputy National Chairman and YBF Director of Operations, has posted a dozen of Labour’s gravest failings over at CF.com. He reminds how, amongst other crimes perpetrated by New Labour against the British people, Gordon Brown has overseen us become one of the most overtaxed, corpulent, violent, nannied, and illiterate nations in the developed world.

Christian’s bullet-points should be memorised by activists as an aide memorie for canvassing. The next time someone says “You’re all the same” or similar, remind them of the havoc our lords and masters have wrought over the past 12 years.

Dr Roy Spencer thinks so. Listen to the dissenting view that the Earth Hour brigade and their ec0-fascist climate alarmist chums don’t want you to hear.

Seeing as so many people are planning to sit in the dark, pretending to be cave men for 60 minutes in an act of penance directed toward their green original sin there should be a lot less people online, meaning your broadband will run quicker, so put it to good use and listen to this courtesy of the Young America’s Foundation:

israel-placards1HonestReporting has published a superb guide to internet-activism, tailored to supporting Israel, but also easily adapted to any cause you with to advocate. This FREE 24 page booklet covers the fundamental principles necessary for advancing your cause online.

Broken into three sections, this guide is a complete guide, starting from almost a ‘activism-for-dummies’ level, and building up to more complex and sophisticated tips and tricks. It’s an excellent entry-level handbook for the desk-bound activist: you could do everything contained here from your office, campus library or home computer. It also serves a great refresher for more seasoned activists.

The guide breaks down e-activism into these stages:

Learn What’s Happening

  • Case Study: You Can Make a Difference
  • Find Out What’s Happening

Mobilize a Response

  • Write a Letter
  • E-mail

Share It With Everybody

  • Be Heard on the Internet
  • Disputing Information Found Online
  • Create Your Own Blog
  • Social Networking Web Sites
  • Sending Alerts to Organizations
  • Resources

We often advocate the campus/non-campus organisation approach to activism – founding a society, recruiting members, hosting speakers, and campaigning, but we know that that approach doesn’t suit everyone. Some of you will lack the time, for example, to involve yourself in that approach.

But with this guide you can be an armchair activist, working alone – no events to organise, no cold days spent on the streets, you can even carry out this activism from your work, or iPhone!

Download the free guide, study it, and you’ll have all the tools necessary to become a one-man liberty-cell fighting for hearts, minds and freedom.

students-for-libertyStudents for Liberty have published two guides aimed at Libertarian activists.

Whilst they are drafted in an American context all but the specifics are easily importable to a British setting, and so should make essential reading for students looking to advance Libertarianism on their campus.

The first publication is a run-through of how to set up a Libertarian society on your campus, and features sections such as:

  • Find Others
  • Develop a Mission Statement
  • Come Up With a Name
  • Learn Your School’s Procedures
  • Ratify a Constitution
  • Set Goals
  • Set Up a List-Serve
  • Hold Events
  • Get School Recognition
  • Train New Leadership

as well as case studies and sample texts to assist in setting up your branch.

The second text they’ve published is a battleplan for the Spring term. Each month is given a theme, key dates such as prominent events, births and deaths are marked, and a structured agenda of activities is suggested. Take for example January, below. Whilst the dates in the calendar are American, one can easily think of British equivalents.

With so much fantastic material freely available – such as this, and YBF’s Every Monday Matters, you’ve no excuse not to be actively advancing your cause!
